Brisbane, it’s an undeniable party destination. Whether you’re hitting West End for an indie gig, or Fortitude Valley for clubbing, it really does have something for everyone. The only issue is, if you’re not a Brisbane local, like our pals from WAAX (who have just dropped a new single, and will be taking to the Splendour in the Grass stage), you might not know how to navigate the perfect night out here.

The Brisbane band are embarking on a national tour to celebrate the release of Labrador, their thrashing and emotional new single. In case you’re finding yourself in Brisbane during WAAX’s Labrador Single Tour, unsure of where to touch down before and after their show, the band has lovingly curated their ultimate Brisbane Night Out Guide to keep you party going all night long.

The Pre Game/ Dinner

“First you’re going to want to hit up Thai Wi Rat, the food is good, cheap and best of all it’s BYO. This is a great way to sneak in a few cheap drinks before you start the night proper. Stop in at Valley Wine on the corner first for a good selection of vino and craft beers.”

The Show

“The best thing about the valley is that most of the venues are in walking distance from each other, there is almost always a show going on so make sure you check out; The Zoo, The Foundry, Crowbar, Black Bear, The Brightside, Bloodhound Bar, The Triffid and more to see what’s happening.”

The After Party

“Time to go to Crowbar, this is our second home and it’s where you’ll find us if we’re having a big one. The DJs play great music and vibe is always friendly. If spending your night cutting a rug is more your vibe then Black Bear Lodge has you covered.”

“Side note: these are some of the best places to escape the thriving ocean of dickheads that is the valley on a Friday or Saturday. If you’re feeling a more chill night then check out Netherworld, it’s got an awesome bar and more arcade and board games then you could think of.”

The Walk of Shame

“It’s 3am, you’re drunk as hell and you need to put something in your stomach, there’s some kebab shops in the mall but they can be pretty dodge and are always overcrowded, hit up the one on the corner of Wickham and China Town. If you need some vegan eats 5 Dogs in the mall has your covered.”

The Recovery Breakfast

“If you blew the budget the night before then head to Fat Boys, it’s cheap and their plates are loaded. If you want a great coffee and breakfast head to Reverends, their breakfast is on the pricey side but is always amazing, we recommend the spaghetti on toast. For the vegans, hit up Dicki’s in New Farm, great coffee and great vegan eats.”
