It isn’t entirely without embarrassment that I admit my first gig was seeing My Chemical Romance back in 2007 as a curious 12 year old. Sitting in the back row of The Entertainment Centre in awe of the little specks on stage, I had never felt anything like it—an experience so otherworldly yet completely raw with emotion that I had no idea what to do with myself once the ringing in my ears had died down. All I knew was that I could no longer be satisfied with my former life, I needed to cram as much goosebump inducing, face melting, chest thumping, ear blistering live music goodness into my time as possible. So for me, turning 18 meant hitting the jackpot. After years of patiently waiting, I finally had the freedom to venture deep into the heart of Brisbane to find the best of the best. It’s been a downward spiral into a full-fledged addiction ever since, and you can watch it all unfold here on Creative Drinks.
