Brisbane, it’s an undeniable party destination. Whether you’re hitting West End for an indie gig, or Fortitude Valley for clubbing, it really does have something for everyone. The only issue is, if you’re not a Brisbane local, like our pals from WAAX (who have just dropped a new single, and will be taking to the Splendour in the Grass stage), you might not know how to navigate the perfect night out here.
This month saw the return of Las Vegas rock band, The Killers, to Australian stadium stages for the first time in 11 years. Opening to the packed out Entertainment Centre, with their 2004 classic, Mr Brightside, the band proved they were here to perform a show worth the wait.
“It’ll be interesting to see what the response is! It’s definitely the most personal songs that we’ve released, or the most personal to me, writing the lyrics. I wouldn’t say that my experience is uncommon, taking this sort of uncommon challenge. I think a lot of the things I’m writing about, are quite common to a lot of people.”
