Bringing the House Down with CLOVES
London via-Melbourne artist, CLOVES has already celebrated a huge start to 2018. She’s performed at Sundance, Billboard’s Industry Nights showcase, and Roots Jam Session. Now, CLOVES has dropped her latest single, Bringing the House Down.
Bringing the House Down is about “being in a relationship that isn’t giving
you enough real emotion. Half the problem we had was we would never argue, there wasn’t
enough fire to force anything to happen. Everything about the relationship was placid and that
was extremely frustrating and uncomfortable for me.”
The track was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, who gave props to CLOVES for her “super classic voice and the ability for classic songwriting, yet the desire to push forward.”
Classic songwriting is the perfect way to describe CLOVES’ work. Striking in its truthful lyricism and stunning in it’s instrumentation, CLOVE has found the appropriate style through which to bring the relationship’s story into her music.
The music video, directed by Sophie Muller, whose stunning work you may know from accompanying music by Beyonce, Coldplay, and Gwen Stefani. Filmed in Alderney of the Channel Islands in the United Kingdom, the video is a stunning accompaniment to the emotional track.
Bringing the House Down is the exciting first release pulled from Clove’s upcoming album, which you can expect to hear later this year. Given the way she’s kicked off the new year, it looks like CLOVES’ album drop will be one to make waves. As someone who’s already cementing herself as one to watch this year, you’re probably as keen to keep track of her as we are.
