Why you should make a stop at Northey Street Organic Markets

Why you should make a stop at Northey Street Organic Markets

| On 26, Aug 2016

Increasingly, we’re being made aware of the benefits of eating local, consciously grown produce. Have you found yourself wanting freshly picked organic goods from our best Queensland producers? Then check out this organic market gem in the inner north of Brisbane.

Lately, with the high demand for fresh and organic produce and goods, the search is on for everyone’s own local produce market. Northey Street Organic Markets has something for everyone, a non-profit organisation for the community, situated on a four hectare farm- yes, that’s right, a market on an actual farm!

You can expect to keep your hands busy by picking fresh and colourful produce, but Northey Markets also get involved by educating the community about the benefits of sustainable living.

You can take a break by wondering off into the veggie garden, talking to the local producers who are eager to share their experience, and even go fruit picking. The market showcases beautiful green scenery with native fruit trees, plants, and shrubs that have thrived on the land since 1994.

Of course, all of these activities can’t be done on an empty stomach! Give yourself a feed before immersing yourself in knowledge. You won’t be able to miss the smell of freshly baked pies or organic breakfast bagels, and of course, for all coffee lovers how about some organic coffee? We suggest giving Byron Beans and Wandering Man Espresso a go!
