Mercedes-Benz has accelerated its approach to design this year as it celebrates 10 glamorous years. As the Principal partner of Queensland’s premier Fashion Festival, Mercedes-Benz gears up to launch the design event with an Australian first.

Ten of Queensland and Australia’s leading designers and industry identities have been commissioned by Mercedes-Benz to ‘style’ 10 of the brand’s vehicles. The unveiling, being held on Sunday 23 August, will explore the creativity of the designers and capture the elegance and sophistication of the vehicles.

The festivals director Lindsay Bennett examines the longevity of the partnership with Mercedes-Benz to have played a vital role in the success of the festivals in the past. He asserted that the festival is “proud of their long association with Mercedes-Benz” and together “have grown the fashion festival into one of the most anticipated and prestigious events on Queensland’s social calendar”. This is definitely a point that is felt and appreciated by fashion lovers throughout Queensland who long for the festival months in advance.

One vehicle, one designer. Renowned ‘artisans’ embrace and interoperate the very definition of the word as they explore varying conceptual interpretations of style and design through the mechanical machinery of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles. These designers include Alex Perry, Toni Maticevski, and Vogue Australia Editor-in-chief Edwina McCann as well as Sunshine Coast duo Adrian Norris and Edwina Robinson from the brand Aje. Easton Pearson, Paul Hunt, George Wu, Maiocchi, Urbana and Sacha Drake have been preparing to showcase their approach to the project as they are partnered with their one-off custom-made vehicles.

The styled vehicles will be driven by the Fashion Festival team as well as being displayed at various locations across the city preceding the launch. These appearance are sure to exhibit the dazzling, eye-catching spectacle that will excite show-goers and the Brisbane public for the week.
