Ekka Fireworks you can play with.

Ekka Fireworks AppIts Ekka time and this year they’re giving us a chance to light up the sky with fireworks – the virtual sky that is.

The Ekka have launched Australia’s first and only free interactive fireworks app, giving show goers the unique opportunity to customise their own fireworks experience.

The app allows users to create a fireworks display, choosing the colour, shape and design of the fireworks, over a virtual Brisbane skyline.

The wow factor of this app is that when at the Ekka you can share your creation on the big screen in Triple M Park on 15 August.

RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou said, “This year we are taking it a step further, giving visitors the chance to control the Ekka fireworks and showcase their creations live. This will occur on the big screen at the first ever pop-up Ekka to be held at King George Square on August 3 and secondly on B105’s People’s Day (August 15) in Triple M Park at the Ekka.”

We’ve already downloaded it and had a bit of a play making our own firework extravaganza, especially with the heart and duck shaped designs.

However we wish we could choreograph the fireworks display and then playing it back so we can watch our masterpieces, instead of constantly clicking.

The app is only available to iPhone and iPad (sorry to all the other smartphone users).

You can download the app from iTunes.

Have fun!
