The 29th French Film Festival returns to Brisbane this week, showcasing 50 films with an exciting range of genres.
Palace cinemas will be hosting the event across their two locations in Brisbane; Centro and Barracks. Fortunately, none of the films are exclusive to one cinema, allowing attendees more freedom to enjoy the festival.
The festival will showcase the very best of French cinema, and there is something for everyone. Ranging from psychological thrillers, hilarious comedies, engaging documentaries and even historical period films.
Opening night kicks off on March 8 with drinks on arrival, before the premiere of the opening film, C’est La Vie! The films screening will be followed by an after-party featuring live entertainment, cocktails, and complimentary gift bags courtesy of the festival’s sponsors.
There will be exclusive events around specific films such as, wine and cheese tasting for Back to Burgundy, and a WWI commemorative performance from renowned French pianist Maxime Zecchini for See You Up There.
The festival ends on April 4 with a closing night gala before the premiere of 50 is the New 30. To close the festivities out in style there will be a pre-screening cocktail party taking place at Palace Centro.
The screening schedule is flexible as well, with the first film beginning after 12:00pm and the last at 9:00pm. Films are English subtitled and have multiple sessions throughout the festival, giving movie-goers no excuse to miss out! So come along and support the festivities by kicking back and enjoying the selection of films.
