Every year, the Brisbane Powerhouse hosts numerous free events for guests and art lovers.
There is no better way to spend your summer holidays than in air conditioning watching a free show or attending a contemporary exhibition. Here are just five of the best free events that the Brisbane Powerhouse will be featuring this summer.
Beth Wilson: Brisbane Houses with Gardens
Enjoy a special evening with Landscape Architect Beth Wilson as she presents a historic review of Brisbane houses with gardens. This presentation through words and picture will encompass Wilsonâ€™s research in the changing domestic landscape from the wild to the 21st century.

Fanciful Fiction Auxiliary Exhibition
This comedy writing project features a group of fictitious amateur romance writers with â€œsequin-studded delusionsâ€. The auxiliary members are performed by a group of actual emerging and established writers of Australian and international origin. This exhibition will be rouge â€“ so bad that itâ€™s good.

Burger Force Exhibition
This Aurealis Award-winning independent comic, photographed, directed, written and designed by Jackie Ryan features real people and locations that have been transformed into comics through hand retouching and software. Burger Force feature people from diverse backgrounds including film, circus, dance, theatre and burlesque. This is an exhibition not to be missed.

Pechakucha Night 2016
Beginning in 2003 in Japan, this famous design presentation format was pioneered by Klein Dytham Architecture. This presentation is brought to you by the best and brightest of Brisbaneâ€™s creative thinkers. This highlight in the creative calendar gives designers a chance to showcase and present their work, ideas and skills. Join the discussion in this engaging night out with drinks, conversation and fresh ideas.

Virtual Drag: Serving VR Realness
This exhibition is an encounter with drag queens and kings via virtual reality. Walk through the Mosquito Foyer and immerse yourself in virtual headsets, projections and 3D screens featuring drag performers in fantasy environments. This exhibition was created by artists Alison Bennett, Megan Backwith and Mark Payne.
