A Book of Your Own: Masterclass on Writing From Life with Kristna Olsson

A Book of Your Own: Masterclass on Writing From Life with Kristna Olsson

| On 14, Aug 2014

The Queensland Writers Centre is offering a special masterclass session this Sunday with award-winning writer and journalist, Kristina Olsson.

Most recently, ‘Boy, Lost’ won the Queensland Literary Award for non-fiction, was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, the Stella Prize, the NSW Premier’s Literary award and the Kibble Prize for women’s writing.

How often have you felt the urge to sit down, gather your thoughts and put pen to paper, drawing on moments from reality? Upon reflection moments in life often seem clearer, more vivid and increasingly delicate. Putting these notions to paper is arguably one of the most creative things you can do.

This opportunity will offer insight into the realm of fundamental storytelling when drawing inspiration from your own life. As a mentor throughout the class, Kristina Olsson will help to identify the significant moments from your reality and inspire you to use them to tell the broader story of your life in a manner that keeps readers drawn to your work.

There are still tickets available through the Queensland Writers Centre office for this special opportunity. If this sounds of interest to you, we do hope that you can head down and immerse yourself within the skills, words and memories that make your personal memoir a special one.
