All Australian Lineup Planned for Falls Festival
In the wake of COVID-19, we’ve missed out on stacked festival lineups and cancelled tours but Falls Festival is hoping to go ahead with their annual New Years event.
As the Australian Government moves towards trying to reopen businesses and slowly lift restrictions, the question remains when live music can pick up again. Although we’ve clearly got a way to go, maybe the very end of the year is an achievable goal.
In a letter to all fans from the festival producers, Falls Festival has decided to move forward with optimism and plan for best case scenario. Focusing this time around on a “home grown” edition of Falls for a few reasons.
There doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel for international travel. The added benefit of a home grown event is that we can focusing on putting the money back into our artist’s pockets and helping boost our economy.
“Falls Festival Dec 2020 / Jan 2021 will also raise funds for Support Act which provides essential services to our music industry workers. Support Act has been inundated with requests recently from workers who have been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Health and safety is always our number one priority, so as the recovery process begins and more information becomes available, we will continue working with and taking direction from the health authorities.
But today we’re letting you know that while we’re living in strange times, we’re choosing the bright side. Our team is moving ahead and we hope we’ll be seeing you all in December/January for an all Aussie edition of Falls Festival.”
No word yet on dates or when the lineup will be dropping but keep your eyes peeled.
