Shady Palms Bar & Cafe is just a stones throw away!
Nestled away within the sleepy streets of Coorparoo, lies a quiet little marvel. The Shady Palms Cafe & Bar is a fusion eatery, serving delicious treats “inspired by the food trucks of California, the street Moles of Mexico and the fresh flavours of South Americaâ€.
Upon entering the café, the first word that popped into my mind was “holidayâ€. The décor takes you on a whirlwind of tropical getaways, siestas, summer romance, and sunsets. You immediately want to explore the crazy assorted areas and kick back for a cocktail with friends.
Arriving in time for the breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of diverse options on the menu. The featuring of items such as arepas, pulled pork tacos, and cod croquettes made for a refreshing take on breakfast cuisine. All of the food was cooked perfectly and beautifully served. The all day menu looked equally impressive, a mixture of share foods, tacos, sliders, subs…the list goes on. I absolutely can’t wait for my next visit to try the fondue fries!
My only disappointment was arriving for a meal so early in the day, as I didn’t feel it would be appropriate to order one of the delicious sounding cocktails. Open Wednesday through Sunday 8am till late, the venue is also available for event hire and catering. I would definitely recommend venturing to the Shady Palms Café & Bar, and I believe it is one of the restaurants to watch for 2013!
