If you’re a fashion fanatic, then you will be pleased to hear Brisbane Fashion Month is coming in hot and we have the latest scoop on what to expect in the lead up.

With the main event only in October, we have a list of what’s on offer in the month of May.

First up, BAD is coming!

Brisbane Art Design also known as BAD is back and bringing a three-day exhibition to our doorstep.

The exhibition will be held in Newstead Studio May 21st to 23rd and features Brisbane designer IVY NIU and ten Brisbane creatives.

The exhibition is entitled, The Tent Dress Project, where the ten featured artists will reinterpret an IVY NIU iconic dress silhouette into their very own artistic design.

Make sure to check it out because there will be one-off garments waiting to be auctioned.

A ticketed ‘Q&A‘ with IVY NIU and two of the featured artists, Bianca Maverick and Rachel Burke will also take place as part of the BAD exhibition.

They will be discussing their process and inspiration around creating their one-off garments.

But wait it gets better, guests will receive a limited-edition IVY NIU print to take home. Yes, please!

Don’t forget to grab a coffee at Newstead Studio cafe ‘Sunroom Store‘ while you are there.

Next up, there is an incredible line-up of brands scheduled to open their doors at the new West Village retail precinct off Mollison Street, West End.

It’s time to get saving for your next shopping trip!

The Brisbane Fashion Month pop-up store will be kicking off on Wednesday May 12, you won’t want to miss this chance to support your local creatives.

You can shop the store Wednesday through to Sunday until the 18th of July.

Some brands you can expect to see includes, Ambra Nera Imports, Anannasa, Bettyquette, Jericho Road Clothing, Astille, Raven Agency, Frankie + Dash, and Renee Loves Frances.

So while we all wait in anticipation for Brisbane’s biggest celebration of fashion in October, we can rest assured there are still some fabulous events coming up in the meantime.
