Now there’s even more to excite you about the upcoming Australian film, Tracks.
Transmission Films have recently released the teaser poster for the film, and it demonstrates the perfect mix of simplicity, beauty and intrigue.
From the producers of The King’s Speech and director John Curran (The Painted Veil), the film is based on the best-selling memoir of Robyn Davidson and her 2700 kilometre trek across the Australian desert.
The year of 1977 saw adventurous dreamer and naturalist Robyn, forge a journey of epic proportions as she travelled by foot from Alice Springs, to Uluru and continued to the Indian Ocean.
Set against one of the most unforgiving, yet breathtakingly beautiful landscapes in the world, audiences see the lengths to which Robyn goes to complete her journey.
The poster (featured below) depicts Robyn and her animal travelling companions as specks against the vast Australian desert.
This not only works to emphasise the enormity of the world around her, but purposely shows us the tracks which she leaves behind as she continues her journey.
The film received much praise among audiences and critics at its 2013 premiers at the Telluride, Toronto and Venice Film Festivals.
With buzz already surrounding Mia Wasikowska’s (Jane Eyre and Alice in Wonderland) excellent performance as Robyn, and the film’s beautiful cinematography and score, this will be a film not to miss.
Tracks is preparing for an Australian cinema release on March 6th 2014.
Keep your eyes open for the release of the official poster in the coming months.
