Australian labels to look up and shop now

Looking for a wardrobe revival? Why not shop closer to home?
It’s not a revelation that Australians do it better. Our beaches; our lifestyle; our coffee…we’re second to none. We also have made a significant mark on the fashion industry, with Australian brands like Sass & Bide, Zimmermann and recently, Bassike, opening stores internationally. So, in light of this, here are four Australian brands worth putting in your basket.
SIR the label
With a strong focus on minimalism and essentials, SIR (Separates, Intimates, Ready-to-wear) epitomises modern-day femininity in the most understated way.
This brand preaches the off-the-shoulder movement so well, that the only way you’ll be able to join this said movement is by pre-ordering. Their signature billowy, off-the-shoulder numbers sell out faster than you can say ‘MLM’, but that didn’t stop me from ordering this beautiful dress in August…
Lack of Color
This brand feels like summer. Their fedoras are made from 100% Australian wool, and come in an array of colours and widths. LOC was started in Brisbane, 2011, by Robert Tilbury and Tess Corvaia. Four years later, they are now stocked all over Australia, New Zealand, and online stores such as Revolve Clothing and Free People.
The Fifth Label
Started by Melani Flintoft in 2014, The Fifth Label celebrates wearability and minimalism. Their affordable and versatile pieces have found their way into wardrobes Australia-wide, and can also be found on some of the biggest online-shopping destinations like ASOS, Nasty Gal, and The Iconic.
