Brisbane to host Australia's first Forever 21

Brisbane to host Australia’s first Forever 21

Call it a chain reaction, but next year Brisbane will be celebrating two fast fashion giants in our CBD.

American fashion retail titan Forever 21 will be celebrating the launch of it’s first Australian store, midway through next year when they will be making the former Lennon’s building in Queen Street Mall their home.

Boasting 500 stores worldwide, a turnover of $3.4 billion and a rating of 121 on Forbes’ private company list, the fact that Brisbane will be their first destination as a retailer speaks volumes.

With the foot traffic in the city hoping to increase since the launch of Topshop, Forever 21 will slink right in to what is hopefully a revamp of our city’s status as a fashion capital of Australia.

“Australia is a terrific market and we hope to make a lot of customers happy. We are satisfied to have a strong landlord help us embark on this journey. We will be penetrating the market in a sustainable manner,” said director and real estate man of Forever 21, Jatin Malhotra.

Just before Topshop opened it’s doors to Brisbane fashion folk, multiple local retailers in the CBD were forced to shut theirs due to decreased foot traffic, and increasing rent prices, so hopefully having two exclusive, affordable shopping destinations opening will assist in keeping our local boutiques alive too.
