Undress Brisbane Sustainable Fashion Show

Saturday night saw a Brisbane China Town car park turn into an stylish, fashion hub showcasing the 2013 Undress Brisbane Fashion Parade.
The night was all about sustainable fashion with the motto, ‘if you don’t know where it’s made, take it off!’
With organic cocktails to quench our thirst and my all time summer favourite, the traditional gin & tonic, I knew the night would be a success.
The venue of a valley car park had been split into different sections.
Downstairs was the fashion runway action, with an inspired blue haze and an almost jungle like feel with ferns down the centre of the catwalk.
Upstairs consisted of two bars, a dumpling stand for those wanting a quick bite and recycled furniture scattered around.
The first runway show started with street wear.
Labels like East of Grey, New Model Beauty Queen and One Colour all made appearances.
Colours and prints made a huge presence for womenswear, along with tailored pants and pastels.
Menswear on the other hand stuck to more monochrome tees and singlets along with tailored shirts and shorts with amazing prints.
My favourite was by far the matching watermelon print, men should start wearing that to festivals instead of those stringy singlets they call shirts.
Next came intimates and sports wear.
My favourite was definitely NICO Underwear.
I love the simple cuts and colours with some flirty mesh backing to spice things up.
Koru Swimwear also produced some really innovative cuts in their designs.
Finally the night ended with evening wear.
With labels like La’Or, Fabled & True, Halasi and Harriette Hill there was an array of different designs.
From beautiful long gowns, to more flirty turquoise skirts and elegant white lace dresses there was something for everyone.
The Undress Brisbane team did a wonderful job at showcasing such beautiful designs.
I was very impressed by the entire night and cannot wait for next year’s show.
Who knew sustainable fashion could be so chic!!
