Brisbane's Best in Beauty

Brisbane’s Best in Beauty

| On 30, Jul 2014

These days you’re able to get your makeup ‘professionally’ done at just about any cosmetic counter in Brisbane, but choosing a freelance makeup artist can take the risk out of your special occasion.

While I’ve frequently had great experiences at makeup counters and in stores, I’ve also had a few disappointments and have recently begun to use freelance makeup artists for special events.

Freelance makeup artists seem to really listen to what you want for your occasion, will give knowledgable advice and offer practice sessions if you require them. They are also available in less stressful environments than shopping centres and are able to travel to venues to add some flexibility to your schedule.

These are my picks for Brisbane based artists for you next occasion:

Hannah Louise Beauty: Hannah specialises in wedding makeup and runs an intimate home beauty studio. Her work is very Victoria’s Secret-esque with stunning, bronzed contouring and natural eyes and lips. Being a mobile makeup artist, she is able to travel to your venue and is also available for tanning and various other beauty services.

Kate Lauren Make-up: Kate has one of the steadiest hands I’ve ever encountered. Her eye for design shines through in her work and her makeup is edgy and fantastically unconventional. If you’re looking for someone for a wild photo-shoot, Kate is your girl. However she can also pull off a classic look. I know for a fact that your red lipstick will not falter if applied by Kate.

So next time you’re after a makeup artist for your special occasion, look to some local talent, rather than a busy shopping centre!
