On September the 4th, the first BrisVegan Fest will give us all a chance to celebrate, learn and practice the way to a more ethical and cruelty-free lifestyle.
This year on social media, veganism has been a trending topic that has divided opinions and given people something to really think about. However, how many of us actually understand the philosophy and lifestyle behind a vegan diet? Hosted by the Vegetarian/Vegan Society of Queensland, BrisVegan Fest is designed to showcase the vegan lifestyle within Brisbane by providing the public with the opportunity to try new products, support charities, learn something new, and meet like-minded people.
The day will include a range of market stalls and food and drink vendors that sell everything from natural and plant based Indian food, Ice-creams and organic fruit juices. For the sweet-tooth lovers, market stalls Sweetbeets and I Should Coco Ice-cream will have you queuing up to indulge in food that’s not only delicious, but highly nutritional too!
In addition to this, the event will be running fashion shows, open mic sessions, raffles and exclusive music performances by bands such as Brisbane duo, Love Like Hate. The BrisVegan fest will also conduct a public forum with inspiring speakers from panels of fitness, nutrition and wellbeing; and animal law and rights activists. The event will also feature specialised workshops and classes from the Australian School of Meditation and Yoga, as well as cookery demonstrations from vegan restaurant owner, Cameron Green. Jewellery, hair and makeup stylists will also be promoting their organic and ethically produced goods and services such as Naturally Vintage Hair and Akasha Creative‘s handmade vegan necklaces!
So whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just simply veg-curious, the Brisvegan Fest is calling your name!
