Australian designer Camilla Franks will be launching her new Spring/Summer 2013 collection alongside the Queensland Eye Institute (QEI) to raise funds and awareness about the importance of eye health.

Hosted by Brisbane’s Treasury Casino & Hotel, all proceeds from the day will go to the Prevent Blindness Foundation to support the vital work of the QEI, which includes research, education, clinical care and awareness as they focus on the elimination of blindness within the community.

The courtyard fashion event will showcase Camilla’s latest collection ‘Pachamama’ which invokes the awareness, feeling, and genuine love and respect for Mother Nature.

Camilla has taken inspiration from her personal journey where she was reminded to reconnect with the land and her summer prints are reflective of how these cultures create a spiritual connection to Mother Nature.

“This collection is born directly from my personal journey as I reconnect with Mother Nature, or as the Incas called her Pachamama. As the year grew so did my awareness of how other cultures connect to this great artist. There has been much time camping with sunrays kissing me awake and the setting sun inviting me to dream. I feel that there is a movement taking us back to Mother Nature, back to where we belong,” explains Camilla.

Having launched the brand just eight years ago, Camilla has quickly become an internationally recognised designer, with her vibrant and inspired collections embodying and celebrating the power of femininity.

With many celebrities such as Miranda Kerr, Oprah Winfrey, and Beyoncé endorsing and supporting the label, Camilla’s success has only just begun.

Camilla’s vibrant designs continue to challenge traditional ideas of beauty, and her personal goal of creating clothes that not only suit all body types, encourage all women feel as beautiful as they deserve.

The charity luncheon will feature themed tables, with guests enjoying a three course lunch, live entertainment, and enjoy Brisbane’s top models as they showcase the new collection, but also Camilla’s new range of home wares and accessories.

Camilla will also be available on the day for a meet and greet, and with a selection of beautiful raffle and auction items on the day attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on a number of exclusive luxury packages and exciting experiences.
