Chester Street Kitchen Desserts

The drool worthy Newstead joint has a new late night dessert menu and we made it our duty to taste it all, someone had to do it!
We all know Chester Street serves up delicious meals, cocktails and sweets but they have taken it one step further and added a whole new dessert menu available from 5pm till late in the evening.
Each scrumptious dish reads like divinity in wrapped in sugar and you will be hard pressed to just pick one. There’s the soul warming sticky date pudding, waffles with maple syrup and candy bacon, the classic lemon crepes, a choc fondant and a cereal milk pannacotta with rhubarb to name a few. I would have preferred a little more pannacotta only because it was seriously doing good things to my tastebuds and I just wanted more of that action. The sticky date pudding is the perfect end to a cold night and oh dear lord I forgot all the cakes!
There are two whole fridges and more displaying beautiful whole cakes and my inner child could not say no to a 100s and 1000s cake – it is just pure joy both in the presentation and the eating with an addictive light white chocolate sponge and buttercream sandwiched layer upon layer. There’s a chocolate and caramel combo, because you can’t go wrong with that, a red velvet cake, a strawberry and lemon sponge and so much more, the cakes change daily so you will need to take several visits. These cakes are baked fresh on site and the single portion size will indeed satisfy and nothing is stopping you from purchasing the whole cake either.
There’s also a window full of slices to line the stomach from peanut butter & choc cheesecakes slice to the classic lemon slice and nostalgic ol’ school jelly slice. I’m tempted to skip dinner all together and order one of each!
With winter finally here your body deserves to be warmed by the Chester Street Kitchen fire with endless desserts at your disposal, because sugar and calories are your friends.
