Chocolate Makes the World Go Round
Brisbane mornings have begun to greet us with frost. The skies are gray, and the air is crisp. With the days growing consistently colder, I find myself craving hot drinks more and more. What started as a simple mission to find hot chocolate, ended in the delicious experience that was the Chocolate Pavillion.
Entering the café immediately found me dreaming of Paris, of a land where desserts are acceptable main meals and never a cause for guilt. Glass cabinets featuring an array of delicate and intricate treats tempt from all sides, screaming to be devoured.
Perhaps my exuberance influenced my perception, but it was the happiest crowd of Brisbanites I had seen in some time. We were confined in a bubble of warmth and sweetness that provided respite and protection from the miserable weather.
Mary Chocolatier, the company responsible for all of the amazing chocolate, which was established in 1919 in Brussels and is renowned for producing some of Belgium’s finest and most prestigious hand crafted chocolates.
Chocolate Pavillion boasts an extensive menu, featuring a deliciously decadent selection of desserts, cocktails and warm drinks. While the combination of one dessert and hot chocolate was more than enough for my first visit, I am planning to go back once a week until I have eaten my way through the entire menu.
Have a look at some of the items I plan to try soon!
