Christmas tunes for the holiday season

Christmas tunes for the holiday season

| On 20, Dec 2013

Everyone has his or her favourite Christmas song for the month of December.

Whether it’s the old time classic Jingle Bells, the beautiful choral melodies of Joy to the World and Silent Night to the more contemporary Jingle Bell Rock.

Each musical number brings with it an individual memory of Christmas past, present and future.

I know when I hear the familiar tune of the Choir of Kings College Cambridge playing in my house I know the time is near for family, food and giving.

For your convenience I have listed some classic Christmas songs from all different genres.

Share these with your loved ones and remember its only one month of the year to enjoy these timeless melodies.

  1. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas in Meet Me In Saint Louis

A classic Christmas song, from a beautiful movie, performed by the one and only Judy Garland.

2. All I want for Christmas is You in Love Actually

One of my all time favourite Christmas movies exploring the love people discover, lose or forget around the month of December. All I want for Christmas is performed beautifully in this movie and is a song I always have on repeat.

3. Santa Baby by Ertha Kitt

One of the most popular Christmas Hits. Ertha Kitt performs a sexy number asking Santa for extravagant gifts from Tiffany’s decorations to personal yachts.

4. White Christmas from White Christmas

Despite the fact Australians never get a white Christmas, it is still nice to imagine waking up to a snow covered backyard. This song definitely achieves that warm, cosy feeling you get when waking up to snow or 18 degree air conditioning.

5. Baby It’s Cold Outside with Lady Gaga and Joseph-Gordon Levitt

Another spicy hit performed by two amazing artists. I mean who doesn’t want to see Joseph-Gordon Levitt flirting?

Merry Christmas!
