We’re looking for Writers!
We are on the hunt for writers who are interested and invested in the creative community of Brisbane. The Creative Issue strives to share the work of our local, national and international creative practitioners with you. We do this through our networking events, internships and online content. Our website focuses on whatâ€™s new and exciting in all the creative disciplines: Â art, music, fashion, photography, creative writing, food, performing arts etc.
We are always looking to expand our team of talented online contributors, with internships available to contribute on the following:
Performing ArtsÂ – Youâ€™ll need to be a night owl for this as you will be attending all the opening nights, media calls and interviewing your fav on stage stars.
Music â€“ we will send you to gigs, music festivals and interviews (great perks)
Fashion â€“ meet up and coming designers, see fashion shows of new and established designers
Food & Drink– A dream start for any foodie. Interview chefs & cafe owners, attend menu tastings, review best places to eat and latest food trends.
Film– We will send you to media previews, film festivals, awards nights. You will have the chance to sharpen your interviewing skills and meet famous people.
Duties and Responsibility
Write 1-2 articles a week (300+ words). This will be your primary task and you will be given the opportunity to conduct your own interviews and attend events usually, with a friend.
Skills and Experience
Have studied or studying a journalism, creative writing and/or media & communications degree.
Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills and knowledge (understanding of WordPress preferred).
Able to work independently however communicate and collaborate within a team.
A strong desire to develop skills.
As this is an unpaid internship. You can choose the hours you work, you will not be required to work in an office however there will be monthly meetings and events you would be expected to attend.
We have been running our internship program for 10 years. We believe in giving you the chance to have your work published online. All work prepared by you will be credited to you.
