Containerval Open-Air Cinema
Laura Webster | On 02, Nov 2013
One of the most innovative and exciting festivals of 2013 is coming to Brisbane this November.
Hamilton’s Northshore plays host to the pop-up festival, Containerval, which celebrate and exhibits design, creativity and the arts.
Spend the days exploring themed shipping containers, you will feel right at home next to the cruise ship terminal and Portside Wharf.
One of the most anticipated events of the festival is the open-air cinema extravaganza.
The festival extends opening hours in its last week to give you an out-of-the-box (cue laughter here) film experience.
Partnering with the Brisbane International Film Festival, you can see three of BIFF’s best films in the walk-in, open-air cinema.
The screening details are:
Thursday 14th November – 6.30pm – Spike Island (2012).
Friday 15th November – 6.30pm – The Spectacular Now (2012)
Saturday 16th November – 6.30pm – Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants (French film, see it first before its release in 2014!)
All screenings are free and gates open at 5.30pm.
Remember to BYO chairs, blankets, beanbags and snacks and make it a cinema experience to remember.
Alternatively, watch on from the cinema’s own restaurant and bar.
You won’t be disappointed with the range of gourmet food, wine and pop-up restaurants the festival has to offer.
Remember, tickets are limited so be sure to book your tickets online prior to the event.
