Creative Drinks strives to do two things: Help promote and grow the emerging arts culture of Brisbane and to throw one heck of an event in order to do so.

On August 8, Creative Drinks will present another unique and prominent networking event designed to showcase local and upcoming talent in all areas of the arts industry from artists, photographers, graphic designers, performers and musicians to writers, marketers and directors.

As the team prepare for the forthcoming ‘Young At Art’, Event Manager Hannah Barnard is confident that this event has something for everyone, carefully curated by creatives, for creatives.

“The event is accommodating all the ideas that Creative Drinks is based on,” she said.

“It’s bringing together the arts community, students as well as professionals and producing a platform that everyone can showcase their work on a level playing field.”

This quarterly event will combine elements of networking, exhibition, entertainment and inspiration by showcasing nine upcoming male and female artist contributors.

For ‘Young At Art’, Creative Drinks have turned their focus to photography and digital design along with aspects of performing arts, fashion and live music.

“We will have the art pieces on display, the band will be playing and we will also have some roving fashion so the models are going to be placed on platforms and then moving throughout the crowd the entire whole night,” Hannah said.

“We’re putting on everything together, all at once so it’s going to be a crazy night for all your senses.”

The event has been tailored to target university students and upcoming artists but is definitely not restricted to them, as Hannah believes ‘Young At Art’ is accessible for all audiences.

“For anyone aspiring to be a part of the arts community or just loves art, this is definitely a great way to see what Brisbane is producing right now.

“It demonstrates what you could be doing in a few years but also the support that the industry receives as well.

“I think that sense of community is really exciting and that’s something that we are trying to promote with this event.”

The relaxed and informal environment of the event held at the prominent Fortitude Valley venue The Fringe Bar is ideal for creative individuals wanting to wade the waters of the industry pool and interact with professionals from some of the major sponsors including Brisbane Powerhouse, Palace Cinemas and Artist Hive.

“Everything has just come together seamlessly.

“The melding of all these different styles with the music, the artwork, the roving fashion, they are all very different and the artists are extremely different but it all works so well together.

“At the end of the day it’s about the artists showcasing their work, getting their names out there.

“It’s not about us, we’re just thankful we can help spread the word by putting on the event and being involved.”

Creative Drinks host their networking events every three months and are always on the look out for university students, aspiring artists and musicians to showcase their talents.
