Dennis' Espressivo on Wongabel Street

Dennis’ Espressivo on Wongabel Street

If you needed another reason to visit Wongabel Street then look no further – on the corner of Wongabel and Lowanna Streets you’ll find the coffee-making masters of Dennis’ Espressivo.

Known by the locals as the best coffee in Kenmore, it is not uncommon to see a sprawling of customers out on the footpath pining for a table or eagerly awaiting a takeaway coffee.

Café owner Dennis O’Meara strives to deliver excellent coffee, maintain a sense of community and establish rapport with each of his customers.

Dennis says he and his girls want to know you, and your coffee order, so the team can greet you as a friend.

Dennis’ Espressivo pours coffee from iconic coffee roasters Genovese and the expertly prepared, single origin, Arabica beans are sure to satisfy your coffee needs and have you coming back for more.

Everyone loves a good avocado on toast and in my quest to find Brisbane’s best I have found a definite frontrunner at Dennis’.

A more than generous slather of iridescent green atop your choice of organic sourdough, multigrain or gluten free bread, a slice of lemon and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil makes for one of the simplest and most delicious avocado on toast’s out there.

Dennis’ is also the proud home of a unique breakfast spread known as green tahini, which is very popular amongst the regulars.

Green tahini is made using tahini sesame paste and plenty of coriander, parsley, lemon juice and garlic – I recommend trying the green tahini with roma tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil, or the green tahini on toasted turkish bread with swiss cheese and roma tomatoes. Delicious!

Batches upon batches of Dennis’  famous lemon and blueberry muffins fly out the door every week – it is a secret recipe and only Dennis and his partner know how to make them.

Almost all of Dennis’ food is sourced locally to ensure they deliver memorable tastes and they pride themselves on supporting local businesses.

Until recently Dennis’ has relied on word-of-mouth but they now have Instagram and Facebook pages to help spread the word so make sure you visit as soon as possible so you can get a table!

Pop by Dennis’ Espressivo this weekend – you won’t be disappointed.
