Dior And I

You’ve seen Valentino: The Last Emperor, The September Issue and Yves Saint Laurent. What’s next? This years most exciting behind-the-scenes film, Dior And I.
The film follows Raf Simons’ opening season with iconic Parisian design house Dior whilst making reference to its beginnings with Mr Dior. Welcomed into the creative journey of Simons’ first Haute Couture show with the extensive Dior team, viewers enjoy a visual feast of big budgets, dramatic dresses and jaw dropping flower walls. Meet the many personalities behind the exquisite pieces we drool over on Style.com, consequently bringing a deeper appreciation for this wearable form of art and the many very normal people who give their life to its creation.
The film exposes Simons, and shows him as he truly is. Not a minimalist, but rather a true creative genius not bound to any one style, rather a lover of art and style. As the film shows Simons’ first collection for Dior in 2012 was heavily inspired by art, and introduced new techniques of fabric design and manipulation to the historic design house. Perhaps, the highlight of the film is not the stunning gowns and exciting final runway show, but viewing the very intimate and personal connection Simons has to his creation.
With cameo appearances from favourites such as Anna Wintour, Marion Cotillard, Marc Jacobs and many other fashion faces the film might have you feeling like a bit of an insider, if only for and hour or two.
