Dodge the heat inside Il Verde on plush leather booths!

With brand new furnishings and attentive staff, Il Verde is the new Bowen Hills addition that is a great place to celebrate the season without sweating the consequences.

Opened late last month on King St where a string of other new eateries can be found, Il Verde is the latest restaurant bar that serves up modern Italian cuisine. With sleek and modern interior design as well as leafy and casual exterior design, Il Verde can assure that you will be dining and drinking in style. Large plush leather booths inside Il Verde will ensure that big group catch up remains intimate with its semi-circle design. If you are not partial to the air-conditioned comfort, then just step outside in the patio seating area where steady menu-flipping winds can keep the Queensland heat at bay.


For entrée, we ordered the Bruschetta Nordica which was house made bread topped with goat’s cheese, 24 month aged Parma ham, mixed green leaves, and vintage balsamic dressing. It was crispy, fresh, and flavoursome.

Next came the mains which were the spaghetti con gamberetti aglio al pepperoncino, and the gnocchi pomodoro. The spaghetti’s flavour was delicately subtle compared to the gnocchi’s tomato punch. With chilli, olive oil, garlic, wild caught fresh prawns, Italian parsley, and grana Padano, in the spaghetti, the juicy prawns and simple flavours were swiftly consumed. The gnocchi with its house made tomato sauce, sweet basil, cherry tomatoes, and freshly grated grana Padano kept things saucy but refreshing.


Of course, we had to finish off with dessert. We chose the Il Verde cannoli and the panna cotta for balance. The cannoli was pumped with crushed hazelnut and Nutella mousse and was a finger licking treat while the panna cotta with its passionfruit sauce easily left the tastebuds happy and delightfully zesty.
