DZ Deathrays: Bunnings Sausage Sizzle for Support Act
Following the highly anticipated announcement of their Australian tour, as well as their upcoming album, Brissie boys DZ Deathrays have announced that they will be helping Support Act raise funds by holding a good old Bunnings sausage sizzle.
DZ Deathrays have had plenty of exciting things happening for them including the announcement of their upcoming Australian tour happening in September 2021, along with their eagerly awaited album, Positive Rising: Part 2, which will be released on Friday 9th of July. The Brisbane trio were also planning to hold an in-store signing this coming weekend, which unfortunately got cancelled because of the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Queensland.
To make up for the cancellation of the in-store signings, they will be holding a sausage sizzle at Bunnings along with Support Act this weekend. The band posted the following post to social media early today:
“Covid has meant not only did we have to cancel our in-store signings this weekend, but once again, so many in our industry have lost work due to cancelled shows. In the spirit of keeping the positivity rising, we’re going to head to Bunnings Cannon Hill this Sunday and get on the tongs to help our mates at Support Act raise some much needed funds for workers in the music industry. Come down and say g’day.“
Support Act is an Australian charity that delivers crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music. They raise funds from the music industry and its supporters in the form of donations, sponsorship, community fundraising, Help a Mate appeals, events such as their annual “Music in the House” industry lunch, and promotions like the much-loved Ausmusic T-Shirt Day.
All of the proceeds that will come from DZ Deathrays‘ sausage sizzle will go towards Support Act.
