Fish Lane Festival is back for 2018
Fish Lane Festival is kicking off for its third year in a row, and, honestly, it’s a combination of three of my favourite things in the world: food, music, and day-drinking.
The festivities begin at midday on Saturday the 12th of May and leads into an afternoon of local restaurants, bars and musicians.
If you have never ventured down Fish Lane before, you might be surprised at how much can be packed down a seemingly innocuous alleyway. It’s located just moments from the Cultural Centre of South Brisbane and you’ve probably walked past it without even realising.
So what does this neat little festival have to offer?
Food – some of the best that the surrounding area has to offer. These include fan favourites like Chu the Phat and Gelato Messina, as well as Ol’ School, Nom on Melbourne and Kiss the Berry trying their hand at the art of the Fish Lane pop-up. Other pop-ups in the line-up include: The Fox Hotel, Five Sisters Cafe, Billykart Bar, Bird’s Nest Restaurant, Julius Pizzeria, Saccharomyces Beer Cafe and 31 Degrees Custom Chocolate.
Drinks – whether you drink beer, wine, cider or something else completely, there will be cocktail bars and beer gardens galore, flowing from the taps of: Colonial Brewing Co, Innocent Bystander, Brown Brothers, Tanqueray Gin Garden and Pimms Caravan
Finally, if all the food and drinks haven’t sufficiently enticed you, Fish Lane Festival will also play host to local musicians and other creatives. Elizabeth Woods and Kevin Leong will be showing off their artwork.
I would definitely recommend getting there early to get yourself a good seat and watch the May afternoon roll by, with food and drink in your hands, music in your ears and art in your eyeballs.
You can keep up to date on their Facebook page for the music line up, as well as any other updates.
