Fish Lane Festival is Back!
For the fifth year in a row, on Saturday May 9th, Fish Lane will be lively decorated for its food and music festival, and rumour has it this will be the biggest one yet.
The festival has said it will be reaching all the way around to Hope street, featuring local and surrounding restaurants, pop up stalls, bars and booze, as well as local musicians, bands and DJs.
The restaurants known to jump in on the fun already are The Fox, Julius Pizza, Grassfed, Gelato Messina, Chu the Phat and Birds Nest, all local eateries near the lane – so looks like there will be something for everyone. With the new construction happening, more food and drink pop ups are yet to be announced.
As for the music line up, it has not yet been released, but you can bet there will be plenty for everyone. Last year, the festival featured DJ’s such as Sarah Thomson, Dameela & Tony Walrus, and live bands with a bit of moody saxophone and trumpet to close the night. In previous years, only two stages were set up for the festival, but with their anticipated expansion of Fish Lane & the reach around to Hope street, the festival claims they will have four stages set up this year.
This is great news for the Brisbane music scene as it creates another opportunity for up and coming musicians. To keep an eye on the release of the line-up, access the official webpage here or keep an eye on their Facebook event!
Presented by The Fox Hotel and ARIA, Fish Lane Fest is free and is aimed for all ages, however minors must be accompanied by an adult as it is fully licensed. The festival will be running from 12pm (midday) until 10pm that night. With a full 10 hours, that leaves plenty of time for everyone to come on down for an exciting afternoon and evening.
