We’re lucky to live in a city that abounds in beautiful parks and stunning weather all year round. Instead of paying high fees for gym memberships and missing out on Brisbane’s glory, why not take advantage of the many fitness and wellbeing classes held in parks all over Brisbane — for no cost!

With gym membership fees through the roof, many people find it hard to justify the cost, particularly when they have a busy schedule. Luckily, many fitness studios offer a variety of free classes throughout the week, including dance, yoga and boxing.

Many classes don’t require booking so all you need to do is put on your exercise gear, bring a mat/towel, water and sun protection, and head to the park.

Here are some free fitness and wellbeing classes being held this Friday and Saturday:

Friday 16th May

What: Pilates in the park

When: 6am – 7am

What: Zumba fitness
Where: Majestic Park, Pelham Street, Coorparoo
When: 9.15am – 10.15am

What: Fitness circuit
Where: Gregory Park, 128 Baroona Road, Milton
When: 9.30am – 10.30am
More info: all ages, bookings not required, bring boxing glove liners

Saturday 17th May

What: Weight loss challenge
Where: Bancroft Park, Hulme Street, Kelvin Grove
When: 7am – 8am
More info: ages 16+, bookings not required

What: Yoga in the park
Where: Corner of Bracken Street and Barrett Street, Bracken Ridge
When: 7.15am – 8.15am
More info: ages 10+, bookings not required

What: Hip hop dance circuit
Where: Musgrave Park, 91 Cordelia Street, South Brisbane
When: 10am – 11am
More info: ages 12-25, bookings not required
