Fortitude Valley Fashion: Fallow

Located “behind the black door” at 354 Brunswick Street is the dark, androgynous, curious store: Fallow.
The store is intriguing and will grab your attention as soon as you set foot inside, with its dim lighting and darker clothing. You’ll find more than just clothes in-store though, with a variety of oddities and trinkets displayed on glass tables, which all add to the Fallow experience.
Clothes-wise, Fallow is all about monochrome and sharp lines. They pride themselves on being avant-garde and one of a kind. They’re self-described as “a juxtaposition of black with white, old with new, space with clutter and industrial with hand crafted.”
We spoke to a friendly Fallow staff member while browsing through the store, and she told us that the Brisbane customer was looking for androgynous pieces; outfits that blur the lines between men’s and women’s fashion. Fallow filled this gap in our market, and they filled it well.
Though they’re still a fairly new company, started in 2008, their fan following is strong around Brisbane and is growing steadily every year.
If you need a funky outfit, casual, formal or anywhere in between, Fallow is definitely worth a visit.
