Friday Night Laneways - Jazz Vibe

Kristie Yates

Still haven’t worked out what to do this weekend? Wonder no more. Why not get involved in the Friday Night Laneways experience?

Friday Night Laneways

Soak up some of Brisbane’s culture and energy by heading to Market Street for a mini-jazz festival featuring Tyrone Noonan, Scat, and Raw Metal. Once there you can indulge in a selection of craft beers on tap, boutique wines and better yet it’s entirely free to join the party.

Brisbane City Council’s ‘Vibrant Laneways Program’ was created to rejuvenate forgotten spaces and reintroduce them to the community as places where people could relax, dine, shop, admire art, and to provide opportunities for small businesses. On the first Friday evening of every month, these laneways are transformed to accommodate cultural events, exhibitions and live performances.

The Market St pop-up jazz festival is the latest event to promote the Laneways Program and an excellent excuse to explore the raw nightlife of Brisbane.
