Friday Night Markets at Boundary Street

If you are not up to a wild night out, nor too much of a quiet one in, the Friday night Boundary Street Markets are your best local bet for something perfectly in-between.
In keeping with the cultural, slightly eccentric and ‘foodie’ scene that Brisbane does so well, the Boundary Street Markets are a local haunt that one would be foolish not to frequent. Each Friday from 4:00pm – 10:00pm, the heart of West End comes alive with an array of stalls and village vibes.
The Boundary Street Markets are nestled in and around the heritage site of the old Peter’s Ice-Cream Factory. This cool location promotes the unique atmosphere of the markets whilst embracing West End culture among local artisans, international pop-up stalls and a flair that not only showcases local products, but encourages involvement from our community.
The whole concept is unique and diverse and one that is swiftly becoming a mecca for market goers and vintage fiends finding peace amongst the mix of foodies.
After recently arriving back from a sneaky overseas stint, the first comparison that comes to my mind is the ‘industrial’ feel that oozes throughout markets within our European capital city counterparts. However, when absorbing the laid back and cozy night-time ambience of our Boundary Street alternative, I realize that here, we have something special that is almost unrivalled – the easy going nature of Brisbane that brings us an absolute ‘people’s’ market. Zero fuss, zero jet lag and no pricey airplane ticket.
With an infallible mix of an iconic location and a stellar showcase of delectable stalls of food, drink and wares, the Boundary Street Markets help reinforce the idea that Brisbane is a loveable little city.
