Do you consider yourself a foodie? We might have something for you. After its inaugural opening, last year, the Fish Lane Festival is returning and looking to be better than ever. With the addition of the involvement of the Fox Hotel and more, the festival is all about food, fun and celebration. With tantalising dishes and drinks for everyone, this free event is set for May.

Scott Campbell, Fox Hotel Manager had some comments to add about this special, one-day event. “I think essentially it’s going to be a celebration of the best food the area has to offer we’ve got a lot of the local restauranteurs who have gotten together and they’re going to put together some of the best dishes they make and have them ready to go on the day… I’d say the Fox being there will be different…We’ve made a few little changes to [it]…I think you can expect a much smoother and better festival in general.” So what can people expect in terms of the start of the show, the food? Not only will there be the best of what the Fish Lane residents have to offer, but a more portable element has organisers giving it its main pull-factor. Scott continues,

“So we’ve decided to pack as much flavour into the food as we possibly can, and keep it easy to hold in the hands and eat as you explore the festival. We’ve put together a range of Bao. We’re trying to have a bit of fun with that food concept and put flavours into there that you might not traditionally see…we’ve got some popcorn chicken for the kids, we’ve got little charcuterie boards to join you in the wine tent as well, we’ve got shaved Spanish Jamon, and we’ve got a range of cheeses as well with fresh crusty bread but all of its mean to be designed so you can kind of walk and eat and enjoy.”

Gelato Messina, Naim on Melbourne and La Lune Wine Co as will be just some of the newest additions to this event as well as an added modern street artwork element to the area and some of the city’s premier local music acts. So for those wanting to relax, enjoy good food and wine with entertaining acts, and take in the uniqueness that is Brisvegas, look no further than South Bank this May.
