Get LOUD at OUT LOUD

Get LOUD at OUT LOUD
Jennifer Brown

Coming to the Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast early this March is a festival like no other! Something new, immersive and with something for everyone. We are talking about the OUT LOUD Festival! A festival that is here to educate, inspire and bring diversity to our locality.

Festival-goers can look forward to talks and ideas from a range of speakers and some relaxation from a live ASMR performance from WhispersRed as well as a workshop! And for the families of the GC, they can come along to The Greatest Showman Sing Along.

Combining ideas, diversity, creativity and education,OUT LOUD Festival welcomes everyone who is keen on trying and learning new things and new cultures. OUT LOUD is a festival that is more than music and shows. It is an immersive experience that brings the world to one place for all Brisbanites to experience and learn.

Speaking with HOTA’s Head of Programming who is responsible for bringing it to the area, Virginia Hyam, we had a chance to find out more about Australia’s inaugural OUT LOUD Festival. Chatting about the acts that are coming and why you should definitely be attending, we got to find out more about the festival and what you can look forward to, and hopefully, what attendees can walk away with.

The Creative Issue: Can you give us a quick run down of the festival?
Virginia Hyam: OUT LOUD Festival is to celebrate diversity through ideas and contemporary ways to bring the outdoors to life. This festival is a way to deliver big ideas and allow people to experience and look out to the world in a whole new way.

TCI: What can people expect from a festival such as this?
VH: More ideas of the world around them. We have a line up of speakers including a neurologist that will do talks on current affairs and issues that we have in today’s world. We want people to be immersed into a new world through this festival, to have their attention captured with new experiences.

TCI: What would you like people to take away from a festival like this?
VH: A new way to look at the world. We want people to have new ideas and ways to look at the world and experience different cultures and the world around us.

TCI: Do you have 5 words/ways to describe this festival and why people should attend?
VH: Escapism, Sensory, Discovery, Big Ideas, and Looking Beyond
