Green Jam Sessions are back

Green Jam Sessions are back

| On 18, Mar 2015

Is the heat taking its toll? Are the weeks starting to drag, now that it’s March? Friday night fund already getting dangerously low? If your answer to any of the above is yes, never fear. QPAC’s Green Jam Sessions are back every Friday—and they’re totally awesome and totally free.

Playing a mix of jazz standards, contemporary grooves and laid back funk, students from the Queensland Conservatorium are taking over the Melbourne Street Green to ease you into the weekend with style.

Every Friday afternoon from 5pm QPAC’s gorgeous green space will be filled with fairy-lights, delicious food, and some of the city’s finest young musicians, as the sun sets and the weather slowly takes a turn towards ‘bearable’.

Melbourne Street Green is one of Brisbane’s loveliest oases—screened from the hustle and bustle, dotted with trees and peppered with very comfortable chairs. And to help properly put the working world in the rear-view mirror, the Green Jam Grill will be cooking up a range of mouth-watering snacks, supplemented by a fully stocked bar.

It simply proves the old adage: if autumn won’t come to Muhammad, Muhammad will go somewhere where people are still enjoying summer. And certainly there’s no better place to take in the last of the warm weather.
