Happy Supports Local Artists with Needle in the Hay Competition

| On 29, May 2017

Happy Mag’s inaugural Needle in the Hay competition could give you the chance to have your music pressed onto 250 copies of vinyl, or win some great tech prizes. Happy have partnered up with Zenith Records, Audio-Technica, JBL, Young Henrys and Enmore Audio to help make Australian musicians’ dreams come true. All submissions will be listened to by the Happy team. A star-studded group of guest judges will work with the team to determine the winners out of their top ten finalists. The team includes Jake Stone from Bluejuice, Magoo, producer for Regurgitator and Midnight Oil, and Julia Wilson from Rice is Nice.

First prize is 250 copies of your EP or album pressed at Zenith Records with full colour packaging worth $3000. Second prize is an AT4050 Urushi Microphone from Audio-Technica worth $2000, and third prize is two JBL Wireless Speaker and Headphone packs worth $700 each. Seven lucky entrants will also win the runner up prize; Single Mastering packages from Enmore Audio worth $200. Happy has developed this competition with the aim of helping emerging artists further their careers with these opportunities. If you’re interested in taking advantage of the prizes Happy has on offer, here’s how to enter:

Simply submit a link to your EP or album – released or unreleased- to the Needle in the Hay site and pay a $5 entry fee. Artists have until August 1st to take advantage of this opportunity, and the winners and runners up will be announced on August 8th. The winners will be announced August 15th. Winners will also be invited to perform at the Needle in the Hay party in September. Please note that Needle in the Hay is only open to Australian entrants.
