Head Down To Moonee Ponds For Cocktails & Canvas!
Stefanie Sergio | On 03, Dec 2014
When I signed myself and my girlfriend up for a yoga & painting night I thought it would be a great night to unwind and try something a little left of centre. I was right, however a night at a place rightly named ‘cocktails & canvas’ was so much more than I expected!
Finding our way into a little lane way in Moonee Ponds we followed stencilled cocktail and paint splatter pictures on the walk way leading to the event. Walking up painted stairs to open the door to an amazing art gallery. Cocktails & Canvas is filled with incredible art works which are all for sale as well as the space being available for events.
The event we attended started as a yoga session. Run by Alanna, who has a contagious energy, she guided us through a relaxing yoga session which left us feeling revived and motivated for the next part of the night!
Next, the space was turned into an art classroom with paints and easels on tables. Guided by artist Lauren, we painted a Hamsa Hand on our canvas and decorated it with extra designs however we wanted to express ourselves through the art.
As if this wasnt fun enough, we were also presented with menus with very creative cocktail drinks and food. If you ever get to visit Cocktails & Canvas you should definitely try ‘The Birthday Cake’ cocktail!
All in all, this event seemed was a roaring success! The whole night was very relaxing and spiritual as well as fun and unique! Cocktails & Canvas has definitley got a good thing going, they are mixing art with expression and fun! Check out their facebook page for more events.
