Interview: Artist Naomi Worth

Interview: Artist Naomi Worth
Kerstin

Meet artist Naomi Worth, one of our talented feature artists at Young at Art on August 8.IMG_1916

Creative Drinks: What do you do?

Naomi: I create, I guess. When people ask me that question, I don’t really like to say a genre I do. It’s not what I do, it shouldn’t really be the thing that defines you.

Creative Drinks: Are you a fashion designer, singer?

Naomi: Illustrator, graphic artist. I also write and create my own music as well and perform it. So, it’s a bit of both.

Creative Drinks: What sort of illustrations do you do? What style?

Naomi: What style? I really varies. Honestly, it’s just whatever I’m doing at the time. But I do a lot of sketching, stuff with ink pens and watercolours as well.

Creative Drinks: Are  you very photorealistic in the way that you draw?

Naomi: I was for a while. But at the moment, I’m taking photos and I’m changing them. So I’ll get an idea from a photo but I’ll warp it into my own.

Creative Drinks: What do you think you’ll be showing at the Creative Drinks event?

Naomi: I’ll be showing a few of my own prints. Some that were done, hand drawn and then were put onto the computer and finished up there. Some that were just straight off hand.

Creative Drinks: What sort of inspires you in your work?

Naomi: Other artists. Everything really.

Creative Drinks: In your latest work, what inspired you?

Naomi: My own emotions, heavily. If things get a bit crazy… the first thing you do is go straight to the paper.

Creative Drinks: What do you hope to do once you graduate or in the long term?

Naomi: I’d like to work for an illustration, design agency. Like a small little boutique one, nothing major scale. Do that, maybe my own freelancing work and still do something on the side. Nothing really one big chunk, I just want everything creative.

Creative Drinks: What do you hope to get from showing at Creative Drinks?

Naomi: Exposure and meeting other people as well. It’s really nice to meet other like-minded artists and see other people appreciate your work.
