Interview with Photographer - Carlie Roach

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Photography from the Queensland College of Arts in 2011, Carlie Roach has established herself as a talented and determined photographer.
Winning awards and participating in a number of exhibitions this year alone, Carlie’s enchanting and unique photography is taking over Brisbane and Creative Drinks are honoured to be showcasing Claire’s work at our next event Art on the Fringe this week.
Creative Drinks were lucky enough to steal a few minutes of this busy lady’s time to find out more about her and her life.
CD:Â How did you get into art?
CR: I got into photography when I was about ten I bought a little film
camera before going on a family holiday to America and
because I had a limited amount of film I took my time trying to
take great shots. When I got back I entered the photos in the
local show under 17â€™s competition and started getting prizes.
CD:Â What inspires you?
CR:Â Everything I see inspires me. I keep a notebook with me incase
I have an idea or see something that inspires me.
CD:Â What do you think of Brisbaneâ€™s creative scene?
CR:Â There is a fantastic amount of creative people in Brisbane and
its wonderful to be one of them.
CD:Â If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who
would it be?
CR:Â Da Vinci
CD:Â What is your dream job/future and why?
CR:Â A successful and self-sufficient creative photographer because I
want to do work that makes me happy.
CD:Â What is your favourite TV show and why?
CR:Â Firefly, because itâ€™s all kinds of awesome.

CR:Â Whimsical, Thoughtful, Kind
