Navala Churrascaria is Brisbane’s latest restaurant to join the award winning waterfront-dining scene at Eagle Street Pier.

Co-owners Daniel Fujimoto and David King welcomed family, friends and press to join them for a night in Brazil at the private opening on Thursday evening.

The unique Brazilian barbeque venture boasted panoramic views of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge set behind a vibrant indoor dining room.

Adorned with peacock feathers that hung from the ceiling, the river’s breeze flowed from the alfresco dining and into the 300-seater room inside.

The authentic live entertainment, including Brazilian musicians, singers and Samba dancers, attracted a lively crowd for a spirited and vigorous night inspired by Carnivàle.

Veuve Clicquot champagne, vintage white and red wines, San Pellegrino sparkling water and South American cocktails were paired with a selection of inspired canapés and a mouth-watering Brazilian degustation.

Talented chefs used ancient cooking techniques, churrasco (Brazilian term for barbeque) and wood and charcoal pits to slow cook the finest quality meats for up to twelve hours. Endless amounts of country-style lamb rump, Tomahawk steaks, garlic prawns, chicken breast and premium meats were served straight off rotisserie skewers and onto the plates before your eyes.

Guests were given a true sample of the menu at Navala Churrascaria with coconut rice, hot chips, deep fried banana, garden salads and beans to accompany their selection of 22 hearty meats. While there is an option for à la carte dining, it is hard to look past the $53 unlimited degustation allowing you to eat until your stomach’s content.

Not only was the meat in vast supply, the co-owners spared no expense to develop an authentic taste.

Brazilian born Fujimoto said the pair aimed to capture the origins of the famed Brazilian barbecue.

Offering a Carnivàle vibe to every dining experience, this waterfront restaurant truly meets the demand of those who seek new, unique, creative and entertaining restaurants. Couples, small or large groups and all who are willing to enter into a night of celebrations will surely love Navala Churrascaria and their ultimate churrasco experience.
