Last screening at iconic Lumen Room cinema
This is your last chance to catch a cult classic film at the iconic Lumen Room at Metro Arts Brisbane. The heritage-listed building will be sold in 2020 after almost four decades as a central hub for the artists of Brisbane.
One of many independent cinemas in Brisbane, The Lumen Room has been a venue to watch your favourite retro movies with monthly marathons.
Kristian Fletcher has been presenting screenings at The Lumen Room since 2014 and will be presenting a range of features starting from the 31st of May.
“See these cult classics with an audience, the way they were meant to be experienced,” Fletcher said.
Catch the 80s/90s classics Say Anything, Clueless and Wayne’s World on the 31st with like-minded fans.
Follow it up with a foray into the 50’s the following afternoon with Roman Holiday and Some Like It Hot. The screenings will continue until the first week of July, tickets can be pre-purchased and day passes are available.
Metro Arts will be selling their iconic heritage-listed building however the organisation will be moving and continue to provide for the artists of Brisbane. It is uncertain whether a new location will include a cinema, however.
They will be hosting a celebration early 2020 to celebrate their 40th birthday, keep an eye out for the announcement.
