Little BIGSOUND 2014
Georgia Condon | On 12, May 2014
For the fourth year running, QMusic has announced Little BIGSOUND will continue in 2014.
A one-day music industry forum presented in conjunction with Youth Music Industries, Little BIGSOUND is an offshoot of its older cousin, BIGSOUND, which occurs in September.
Managed by motivated, young individuals, Youth Music Industries presents an array of events throughout the year targeted at, but not exclusive to, the youngest end of the Brisbane music market. Youth Music Industries’ Matheson Yates says of Little BIGSOUND that, “Music is such an important part of our lives, and Little BIGSOUND has given us a chance to work in the area we loveâ€.
Designed for people aged 15-25 with a passion for creating, producing and distributing music, Little BIGSOUND will go down on the 21st of July, at the State Library’s flexible creative area, The Edge.
With the focus not solely on learning, but also on engaging and networking, Little BIGSOUND acts as a way for younger creatives to engage with an industry that is undeniably hard to break in to.
Along with live performances by established and emerging artists, Little BIGSOUND includes “panels and breakout sessions covering everything from band management to live sound†and more, with speakers and artists to be revealed over the coming weeks.
