London Porterhouse opens in Newstead

London Porterhouse, an Argentinean style restaurant and bar, has recently opened its doors.
For those who are looking for an elegant yet chic place to dine out, this is the place.
Resting amongst the increasingly trendy area of Teneriffe, the London Porterhouse is based around the family centered concept of food, family and fun.
“Argentinean culture is all about food, family and fun. That’s what we want London Porterhouse to be all about – a place where friends, family and lovers can meet for a wine or a chat over a meal,†said Mercedes.
Owner Mercedes McVeigh has built on the success of family owned Brio next door, Brio, with the goal of creating a dining destination to rival all others.
The interior is darkly romantic while the outside deck mingles with the neighborhood nightlife. It was a refreshing alternative to the typical Brisbane atmospheres, offering a more mature wine and dine venue.
I was lucky enough to attend the official launch party for the venue, and sample their extensive Argentinian wine list and share plates of meat. Using locally sourced produce, there was a focus on rich flavors served in a modest manner.
I am excited to visit again soon to try the entire menu and see what the traditional dining experience will entail! Stay tuned, as I intend to delve deeper into the curiously brilliant concept that is London Porterhouse.
