Menswear: The Wardrobe Staples for Summer 2015

Menswear: The Wardrobe Staples for Summer 2015

| On 24, Nov 2014

Attention men of Brisbane! It’s time to get ready for a bright and colourful summer!

If it wasn’t for the calendar telling us we were still in November, you’d think we were smack bang in the middle of a sizzling summer. While the heat is sometimes too hot to handle, there is still no excuse to not be a stylish dresser this season. From bermuda shorts to nautical stripes, Summer 2014 is sure to be three months of impressive fashion. Here are the wardrobe staples you need for the season ahead.

1. The Printed Short

Whether it’s floral, aztec, geometric or even mermaid, the printed short is essential for Summer 2015. Not only is it the perfect staple for the sizzling season, it makes a strong statement on it’s own. Paired with a simple tee or button-up, a belt can also bring a stylish element to a simple summer look.

2. Nautical Stripes

Looking like a sailor has never been so chic. The nautical stripe is always seen on the streets during summer but for 2015, it’s been used in new ways. Whether bringing texture to a plain suit or used in different colours for a light sweater, the nautical look isn’t just for days on the boat.

3. White On White

In white, off-white and cream, this clean and crisp shade is a must in your wardrobe this year. Chinos, light sweaters, suit jackets, shorts and tees are all essentials for this summer trend. Pairing white accessories with an all white outfit may be a bit of overkill; opt for a pop of colour.

4. The Statement Sandal

Now, I used to detest the sight of sandals like these but I’ve evolved. The statement sandal is an essential for the season ahead. Whether roman or thick strapped, the sandal works well with relaxed suits, bermuda shorts and loose-fitting pants.

There you have it. Four wardrobe staples that are essential for Summer 2015. It’s time to dress your best, fellas.
