Miss Kay's Burger Bar

Miss Kay’s Burger Bar

Amongst the plethora of American-style burger joints taking Brisbane by storm, Miss Kay’s is one of the hottest on everyone’s lips.

In classic American style, the food is all about generous portions and decadent flavours- think classic cheeseburgers, fried chicken, ice-cream sandwiches and tall, whipped cream topped milkshakes.

Brought to you by Matt Lee and Justin Kong, the boys behind Our Place in Fortitude Valley, the two-level venue is decked out in classic diner-style décor, neon lights and 90s music blasting from the speakers. Miss Kay’s primary fare is burgers, but it doesn’t stop there, with three types of crispy fried wings, onion rings and ice-cream sandwiches also up for the tasting.

The “Mac Daddy” is of particular interest combining (you guessed it) delicious mac ‘n’ cheese, a beef patty, American tasty cheese, sweet barbecue sauce, mayonnaise and a heaped helping of fries.

Alternatively, go classic with one of Miss Kay’s cheeseburgers; a beef patty, double cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard and Miss Kay’s special sauce. If you’re sick of plain old fries try Miss Kay’s dirty fries with their special seasoning, tomato chilli, shredded cheese and sour cream.

If you’re game, Miss Kay’s dares you to try their “Big Kay’s” challenge- with a tower of five beef patties, five slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, Miss Kay’s sauce and a generous helping of dirty fries. If you manage to complete the monstrous plate of food you will be rewarded with a $30 voucher and the supreme honour of being featured on the wall of fame.

Their most recent venture is breakfast, soothing Sunday morning hangovers with suitable greasy offerings like southern fried chicken with maple waffles, and big breaky burgers.

Drop by Miss Kay’s burger bar seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
