Mogwai Returns To Australia
Joshua Lovett | On 22, Jan 2015
Scottish post-rock legends Mogwai are returning to Australian shores for the first time in 5 years. Most importantly, as part of this they are coming to Brisbane’s Tivoli on the 4th of March to give Brisbane audiences a taste of unique sonic instrumentals.
Since their 1995 debut album Mogwai Young Team, the band have continued to evolve their sound, securing for themselves a loyal following world wide, as well as critical praise and a hugely influential voice in modern music. Noted for the almost complete absence of lyrics from their song, the band prefers their audience to concentrate on the musical landscapes they create, rather than words. Often switching between the tranquil and brutal, their music has a broad array of influences, and contains something for any lover of music.
Other dates on their tour include a two night stint at the Perth International Arts Festival, headlining the Adelaide Festival, As well as performances at the Sydney Opera House and in Melbourne’s Hammer Hall. This tour is not to be missed, and with the long absence since the last one, audiences should grab the chance to see these amazing musicians while they can.
